United Contemporary is thrilled to welcome our new Gallery Director, Melanie Trojkovic, to the team. Melanie has a Masters in Art Curatorship from the University of Melbourne, and over ten years of experience working in the contemporary art industry, both locally, and internationally.
Former Gallery Director at LUMAS in Yorkville, Melanie most recently held a position as Gallery Associate at Bau-Xi Gallery in Toronto. With a passion for contemporary photographic practice, Melanie is an acting member of the curatorial committee for the SNAP Annual Photographic Auction, and is a Juror for the Emerge Media Awards. Melanie draws inspiration from the artists she works with, while connecting and engaging with their audiences to grow and diversify their collections. Acting as an art mediator is central to Melanie’s curatorial practice, and she is excited to work closely with United Contemporary’s roster of artists.
Gallery founder Burke Paterson will continue his work at the gallery as Creative Director, and together they look forward to supporting the creative visions of United’s artists and further developing their careers.
