Scaffold is an allegorical painting depicting Toronto Raptor players Pascal Siakam, Fred VanFleet, and Precious Achiuwa. In this scene, the figures are engaged in a brotherly activity that is often observed on the court, when one person is humbled by a foul or misstep are assisting by their team mates with a hand of support. In Scaffold, this moment is presented at night and in an unknown forested area, a court of play, maybe on the path North towards the guiding light of Mrs. Pipkin’s Spadina House. Despite their reassuring interactions, the players keep a watchful eye on the path that lies ahead.
