Stefan Berg: Counterpoint

United Contemporary presents Counterpoint, an exhibition of paintings and linocut prints by Stefan Berg. Counterpoint corresponds with Art Toronto 2020, where United Contemporary will present Architecture of Music.

Stefan is interested in the many facets of a landscape, assembled of personal, civic, art-historical, and geological pasts. The paintings in this exhibition depict scenes from his neighbourhood during isolation. Both the subjects and the paintings change many times during the course of creation, as Stefan works on-site with natural light, affected by the change of seasons. The result illustrates the tactility of sight and temporality of time.
